Report Table Editor – Table Configuration Preview for Iterative or From View Table

For an Iterative or From View table, the user is presented with a display that allows the report table headings, detail, grouping/subtotals and footer to be configured. Because the report table is being generated from a list of containers and/or rows from a view, the detail row is output for each container/row in the list with its data.

Initially, when the Report Table Editor is launched in New mode, the user is presented with blank table as shown below. There are currently 5 rows available for configuration:

Inserting, Appending, and Deleting Columns. Copy/Paste Cells

As the number of rows for Iterative or From View tables is determined by the data that matches the report criteria, only columns can be appended. A single column exists by default. Right mouse click on any of the cells and options to Insert, Append or Delete Columns are available. Options to copy/paste are also displayed.

Note: Paste cell only appears when a cell has been copied. You cannot copy the grey row header cells (labelled Group Heading, Heading, 1, Sub Total and Footer). Copied cells can only be pasted onto the same row they were copied from. It is not possible to copy and paste the cell to a different table.

A warning prompt to confirm deletions is displayed if any of the cells within the deletion are configured (i.e. not blank).

Note: It is not possible delete a column if a group heading spanning more than one column starts on it.

Cell Configuration

For Iterative and From View tables, the cell type options will vary depending on the row that the cell is on. This is different from a Fixed Table where the cell options are the same regardless of what column or row the cell is in.

For each of the rows in the Table Configuration Preview, the table below shows what the options are for the Cell Types in Cell Settings > Cell Type. What is chosen in Cell Type will change the remaining Cell Settings configuration options.

Like the table settings, double clicking the setting value (or pressing F2) allows the setting to be changed on the grid.

This image explains what is shown in the table.

Cell Parameters

The parameters will change depending on what the Cell Type has been set to. The options available will vary if using a Fixed or Iterative/From View Table.

If the cell has been set to “Blank Cell” then there are no configuration parameters to set.

The table below is showing what parameters will be available when the user changes the cell type.
